Monday Update and the week ahead
Well I’ve finally settled on a theme that I think I can be happy with for quite a while. At least with this one its a layout I can deal with and I am able to incorperate some level of the guitar theme into the site with the custom header image. I wish I could edit my own CSS here at Today. I find this current practical in all the features I need it for at this time.
Upcoming this week - I got a lot of rest this weekend and it should be a good week. I will be subcategorizing the Guitar Lessons category and using tags to make for smoother browsing. I’ll also be creating some posting templates so I can make the updates more uniform. I will also be writing some upcoming regular features and segments for the blog.
Future forecasts - In the coming weeks I hope to get some other website projects out of the way to make time for some larger scale ideas I have for Guitar Today, such as podcasts. There is still a lot of planning and writing to be done before this project begins.
Monday’s post comes a little later in the day than usual. I overslept, did a lot of work on immediate projects that needed my attention, and I didn’t play a whole lot of guitar this weekend so my inspiration was kind of lacking.
I did manage to pull out my trusty old 12 string to strum a few chords Saturday night while I waited for the girls to get ready. I really love the feel of a 12 string for open chorded, acoustic tunes.
Mine is a black Oscar Schmidt (by Washburn) with an onboard pickup and 4 band equalizer. The trouble with this model is the placement of the input. It would be much better if it were built into the nut like many Ibanez acoustic models. Having it in the electric style position on the curve of the lower side of the guitar makes it a knockout hazard. I’ve knocked the input out a few times, not surprising since it is only fastened by puny little washers.
Overall I could never part with it though. Theres something about a 12 string guitar that is just plain magical.
